Denise has over 25 years’ experience campaigning for social change. Denise co-founded Marriage Equality – a campaign to extend civil marriage rights to LGBT families in the Republic of Ireland – and worked with the strategic advisory committee for Yes Equality to achieve a successful outcome. She recently worked with the Together for Yes campaign (to Repeal the 8th amendment) as head of fundraising and member of the Strategic Advisory Group. Denise also works on social change through the lens of philanthropy, working with a number of organisations as a trustee and/or advisor. Denise became Chief Executive Officer of the Immigrant Council of Ireland (ICI) in 2003. Prior to that, she was the Director of Women Aid, Dublin, an organisation working on issues related to gender based violence.
